Trista Johnson, 27, of Williston, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 28, 2012, at the Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings, MT, after a lengthy illness.

Trista Johnson, 27, of Williston, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 28, 2012, at the Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings, MT, after a lengthy illness.
Trista Fay Johnson was born October 18, 1984 in Williston to Steve and Debbie (Kueffler) Johnson. She was raised in Williston and baptized in the Lutheran faith. She attended school in Williston, graduating from Williston High School in 2003.
Trista moved to Grand Forks in 2009. She attended college at Northland Community and Technical College in Grand Forks to pursue her dreams of becoming a radiology technician. Trista worked for REM, where she assisted people living in a group home setting with their everyday lives. She had a place in her heart for the people she cared for, and they loved her in return.
Trista adopted her cat, Festley, while living in Grand Forks. He quickly adapted and became more of a child than a pet.
In August of 2011 Trista was diagnosed with cancer. She was strong and brave throughout her illness, inspiring many with her courage. Trista loved being around her friends and family, always having a smile to share. She also helped others in any way she could. Even after her passing, she was an organ donor and gave someone the gift of sight.
Trista's laugh will always be remembered and her memory will hold a special place in our hearts.
She is survived by her parents; brother, Steven Johnson of Williston; sister, Kari and fiancé Keegan Robertson of Williston; grandparents, Leo and Marilyn Kueffler of Williston and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Virgil and Virginia Johnson and cousin, Chase Berg.
Her funeral will be celebrated Friday morning, August 31, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Williston, ND. Rev. Ben Loven will officiate and interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may also call at the Everson Funeral Home Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday at the church for the hour preceding the funeral.
