Wayne Knain, 75, of Grand Forks, ND died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Wayne Knain was born September 10, 1936 in Northwood, ND the son of Allan and Amanda (Johnson) Knain. He grew up in Northwood and graduated from Northwood High School in 1954. He worked for Farmers Union in Larimore, ND for 8 years. He married Inez Hagen in Aurdahl Lutheran Church, Portland, ND on February 14, 1959. They moved to Shelly, MN in 1966 where he worked for the Shelly Elevator and Lumber. They moved to Grand Forks in 1983 where he worked for Robertson Lumber in Drayton, and Grand Forks Glass and Paint until his retirement due to ill health.

He is survived by his wife Inez of Grand Forks, 2 sons, Randy (Debbie) Knain of Rugby, ND, Scott (Diana) Knain of Reynolds, ND, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brother, Terry (Barbara) Knain of Fargo, ND, 2 sisters, Frances (John) Wood, of Las Vegas, NV, and Leah (Troy) Erickson of Minot, ND, 3 sister in laws, Vidette Knain and Carol Knain of Grand Forks, Connie Knain of Fargo, ND, 2 brother in laws, Don Colbert of San Antonio, TX, and Robert Gilbertson of Grand Forks.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Eugene, Douglas, and Wesley, and 3 sisters, Gwendolyn, Mildred, and Yvonne.

Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: 5-7 PM with a 6:30 Prayer service, Friday, July 6th at the Dahl Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, MN and 1 hour before services at the church.
