Cathy (Machart) Mack, age 71, peacefully passed away in her sleep at her home in Shakopee, MN after a long illness, on Saturday, June 16, 2012.

Cathy (Machart) Mack, age 71, peacefully passed away in her sleep at her home in Shakopee, MN after a long illness, on Saturday, June 16, 2012.

Cathy was born May 14, 1941, in Grand Forks, the daughter of R.G. and Eleanor (Reynolds) Machart. She grew up in East Grand Forks, MN graduating from Sacred Heart in 1959. Cathy married David "Dave" Mack on June 14, 1962, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks. They raised their family in East Grand Forks and upon retirement moved to be closer to their children and grandchildren in the Twin Cities. In recent years they spent winters in Surprise, AZ.

Cathy was a stay-at-home mom while her boys where young, was very involved in their various sporting activities and was an avid Green Wave fan. She was a proud supporter of the Blue Line Club having served on its Board. She also worked for a number of years as the manager of the Blue Line Club concessions and gaming.

Cathy loved her children and grandchildren fiercely. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to movies, being in the sun, was an avid bird watcher and attending any event in which her grandchildren were involved.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Dave; her beloved sons Craig (Linda) of Minnetrista, MN, Steve (Michelle) of Waconia, MN and Scott (girlfriend Jamie) of Farmington, MN; her precious granddaughters, Brenna, Callie and McKenzie; several brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert "Bob" Machart.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a service to celebrate her life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 4370 Trillium Lane West, Minnetrista, MN.
