Christine R. Haug, 92, of Perham, MN, formerly of Grafton, ND, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Perham Living.

Christine R. Haug, 92, of Perham, MN, formerly of Grafton, ND, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Perham Living.

Christine was born in Arvilla, ND, the daughter of Jacob J. and Katherina Holweger, on March 11, 1920. She attended Avon Township District 40 School, Northwood, ND, and Northwood High School. On October 21, 1942, Christine was united in marriage with Paul Martin Haug, in Grand Forks, ND. She lived in rural Northwood, Grafton, Grand Forks and Fargo, ND. For 15 years, the couple spent their winters in Apache Junction and Mesa, AZ. Christine spent the final 2 ½ years of her life at Perham Living.

During her lifetime, Christine was a member of the Landstad Lutheran Church, in Auburn, ND; St. John's Lutheran Church, in St. Thomas, ND; the Grafton Lutheran Church, in Grafton, ND, and the Sharon Lutheran Church, in Grand Forks, ND. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Circle Member, held various offices and was an active member in her church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Happy Hour Homemakers. Christine enjoyed her family and family get-togethers, embroidery, gardening, farming, and singing in vocal groups.

Surviving Christine are her children, Paul (Sharon), of Champlin, MN, Dale (Marilyn), of St. Joseph, MN, Miles (Karen), of Perham, MN, and Joeldine, of West Des Moines, IA; eight grandchildren, Denise (James) Flanagan, Tamara (Dwight) Gudim, Carter Allen (finacee, Rebecca Lenox), Tyler Allen, Derek (Rebecca) Haug, Danielle Haug, Philip (Erin) Haug and Anna Haug (fiancé Javier Pena); eight great-grandchildren, Brandon and Krista Flanagan, Madison and Jordan Gudim, Sophia and Maria Haug, Matthew Haug and Yona Haug, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Christine in death are her parents; husband, Paul; brothers, sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Perham Living Chapel, Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Jim Gronbeck officiating.

Burial will be in the Landstad Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton, ND, at 4 p.m.

Visitation at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, is from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the funeral at the Chapel.
