Age 62 years, of Slidell, LA passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012.

Age 62 years, of Slidell, LA passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012.

Beloved Husband of Lisa Brown Gust.

Devoted father to Jennifer and Brian Gust and step-father to Lauren Lipscomb.

Son of John James Gust, Sr. and the late Norma Gust.

Brother of Robert Gust, Tom Gust and Dan Gust.

A native of St. Thomas, ND and a longtime resident of Slidell, LA.

John's passion in life was his career in Physical Therapy and was currently at Ochsner Northshore.

He loved living in the South and was an avid Saints fan.

Whether he was singing, whistling, or trying to snap a picture of you, John was an absolute joy to be around and his smile was contagious.

He will be dearly missed by all.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE BLVD. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Thursday, February 9, 2011 at 7:00 P.M.

Visitation on Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, (stjude.org) are preferred.

We send heartfelt sympathy to the Gust family. I lived in St Thomas North Dakota as neighbors of Jack, Norma and the boys. I still correspond with Grampa Jack in Fargo. Cherish the memories you have enjoyed together. I send my love and prayers. Ellen (Thompson) Novak
