Patricia Muir

Patricia Muir, 52 of Hallock, Minnesota passed from this life surrounded by her family on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock. Patricia Lyn Lawrence was born to Sidney and Dorothy (Schlapkohl) Lawrence on April 26th, 1959 at Worthington, Minnesota. Pat's family moved to Hallock in July of 1963. She attended Hallock Public Schools and graduated in May of 1977. Pat earned her degree in accounting from Bemidji State University, graduating in May of 1981. She married Philip E. Muir at Hallock on July 31, 1982. Pat worked for Holcomb, Knudson and Company in Crookston, Minnesota from June of 1981 to September of 1983. She started at Conrad Dahl's office in January of 1984 and also worked for the Northcote Elevator in 1984 and 1985. She became a partner in Dahl, Hatton, Muir and Reese, LTD on July 1, 1993 and took a medical leave of absence on January 1, 2011. Pat enjoyed following her children's activities and logging miles in the car for each and every one of them. She also enjoyed the simple pleasure of mowing the yard and gardening. Pat was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Phil, Jami, Andrew and Kaitlin would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center, Altru Cancer Center and the 6th floor nurses at Altru Hospital for the dedicated care and kindness given to Pat and the entire family.

Family members include her husband, Philip; children, Jami (Robert) Carr, Hallock, Andrew, Hallock and Kaitlin at home; her parents, Sidney and Dorothy Lawrence, Park Rapids, MN; sisters, Kay (Laren) Sauter, Wilson, WI and Barbara (Frank) O'Hara, Pembina, ND; brothers, Bruce (Lynae) Lawrence, Thief River Falls, MN, Michael (Julie) Lawrence, Park Rapids, MN, Thomas (Emmy) Lawrence, Wausau, WI and James (Theresa) Lawrence, Stephens Point, WI; many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Dorothy Muir, Hallock; sisters-in-law, Kathryn (Jim Larson) Boutin, Little Fork, MN, Nola (Robert) Lindegard, Hallock; and brother-in-law, Joel (Diane) Muir, Hallock.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; father-in-law, Robert Muir; brother-in-law, Philip Boutin; sister-in-law, Suzette Muir and uncles, Melvin VanRoekel and Roger Lawrence.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 13th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church at Hallock.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock.

Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

The Austin Funeral Home of Hallock is in charge of arrangements.
