Doris earned her wings on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the age of 82. She was born in Plummer MN on March 27, 1929 to parents Peter and Barbara Gerardy. She married her high school sweetheart Kenneth in 1950 and moved to California in 1956 with their four children with 3 more soon to follow. Then moving to Arizona in 1959, Ken and Doris joined the Queen of Peace Parish where 4 of the children graduated from the parochial school. Doris was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother and grandmother.
Doris is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, brother Jerry, sister Noreen, daughters Debbie, Lynn and Patti, son Jeff, 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her brother Ronnie, and sons Ross, Scott and Brent.
Doris was an accomplished seamstress who worked from home while raising 7 children. After being a homemaker for over 20 years, Doris became a valued employee at Valley Rentals in 1980. In 1994 Doris joined her husband Ken in retirement, to spend more time with him, and summers on the family farm where she grew up.
A rosary will be said on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 12:00 (Noon) with a funeral to follow at 1:00 pm at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 141 N. MacDonald, Mesa, AZ 85201.
