Lois Ososki, 92, of Drayton, North Dakota passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks on Saturday, July 23, 2011. Lois Ethel Andrea Savard was born in Drayton February 16th, 1919, the daughter of Edward and Pauline (Trost) Savard. The family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin when Lois was a young girl. She attended kindergarten there and was a 1937 graduate of Washington High School in Milwaukee.
The family returned to the Red River Valley in 1938, settling in Fork Township. On October 2, 1939 she was united in marriage to Eddie Ososki at St. Joseph's Mission Church. The couple farmed at Eagle Point, near Stephen, Minnesota. In 1972, after enduring enough of the spring floods, they moved to Drayton. Eddie passed away in 2002.
Lois was an active parishioner of St. Edward's Catholic Church and served as a CDC teacher and on the altar guild. She was also active in the Drayton community and was a member of the Sugar Bowl Senior Citizens Center, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Oxcart Historical Society and was an advocate for the Drayton Ambulance Service.
Family members include her children, Patricia (Donald) Brouillard, Leonard, ND, Richard (Sharon Miller) Ososki, Kennedy, MN, Penny (Dale) Cady, Boise, ID and Pam (Sid) Wells, Glenham, SD; 14 grandchildren, Elizabeth Brouillard, William Brouillard, Andrea Knudson, Michelle (Gary) Helland, Dale (Michelle) Ososki, Timothy (Leah) Ososki, Ronald (Natalie) Baldner, Wendy Holland, Michael (Glenda) Baldner, Jade (Annaka) Cady, Justin (Amy) Cady, Shanna (Mathew) Shanahan, Robert Hintz and Stephen (Donna) Hintz and 29 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie; siblings, Donald, Patricia and Harold and a son-in-law, Kenny Hintz in 2008.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 29th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Edward's Catholic Church, Drayton.
Interment will be in St. Edward's Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Austin Funeral Chapel in Drayton on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
