Helen L. (Amberry) Solee, 90, of Lincoln, NE, formerly of Grand Forks, ND, died Friday, July 8, 2011 in Lincoln.

Helen L. (Amberry) Solee, 90, of Lincoln, NE, formerly of Grand Forks, ND, died Friday, July 8, 2011 in Lincoln.

Helen, devoted wife, mother, sister and daughter, was born Sept. 30, 1920, to Robert and Tillie (Moen) Amberry in East Grand Forks, MN. She attended Winship Grade School, Grand Forks Central High and became an LPN. In 1939 she married Harvey Solee (Buxton, ND). She served in many civic organizations: Cub Scout Den Mother; PTA President Winship Grade School, Wilder School and Valley Junior High School; Treasurer Grand Forks PTA Council; President Auxiliary of UTU; President VFW Auxiliary Post #1874; President ND State VFW Auxiliary and three national chairmanships for the National VFW Auxiliary; member East Grand Forks Eagles Club and American Legion.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond "Ray" Solee (Diane) of Lincoln NE and Richard "Dick" Solee (Margaret) of Mobile, AL; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Thomas Amberry of Seal Beach CA and sister, Florence "Dolly" Wilson of Moorhead MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Harvey R. Solee.

Graveside Service: 10:30 AM Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Immanuel #2 Cemetery, rural Buxton, ND.
