R. David Green, age 90, of Hatton, ND passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at the Sanford Hospital, Mayville, ND.

R. David Green, age 90, of Hatton, ND passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at the Sanford Hospital, Mayville, ND.

Royce David Green was born June 6, 1921, at Hatton, ND to Sven O. and Martha (Boley) Green. He grew up at Hatton where he graduated from high school. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army and was discharged in July of 1946, attaining the rank of sergeant. David was owner and operator of Green's Oil Company with his two brothers for many years.

David was a member of the Hatton Volunteer Fire Department, Hatton City Council, St. John Lutheran Church and the American Legion.

On August 16, 1946, he married Maxine A. Boyer at Fargo, ND.

She survives as do his children: Pamela Green Hans, Sioux Falls, SD and Jon (Edie) Green, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Christopher (Nicki) Green and Brenton Green and great grandchildren: Maia and Lily Green and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers: Walter, Elnor and Kenneth Green.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church, Hatton, ND.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel, Hatton, ND.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hatton Prairie Village or St. John Lutheran Church.

Burial in the St. Johns Cemetery, Hatton, ND.

Military Rites: Carroll O. Flesche Post #70, Hatton American Legion.
