Susan G. Donley, 63,of Grand Forks, ND passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 at home of natural causes.
Susan Gay Larson was born February 22, 1948 the daughter of Merlyn C. and Roberta A. (Becker) Larson in Norfolk, NE. She moved with her family to Grand Forks in 1961 and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. Susan married Douglas K. Donley on April 17, 1970 in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks. She was employed with North Dakota Job Service for 5 years and worked as the kitchen manager at The American Legion Post 157 of East Grand Forks, MN. She later began working for the school lunch program at Schroeder Middle School and ended up as kitchen manager at Lewis and Clark Elementary School. Susan retired in May of 2010 after 15 years with the Grand Forks School System.
Sue enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading and cooking, especially for family gatherings.
She is survived by her husband, Doug; daughter, Tracie (Gary) Howard, Mishawaka, IN and son, Greg (Dani), Elkhart, IN; grandchildren, Macie and Brenna Howard; her mother, Roberta, Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Robert, Larimore, ND, Timothy (Jami), Lakeville, MN and Corby (Teresa), East Grand Forks, MN and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Terry; her father, Merlyn and a brother, Dennis.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service in Gregory J. Norman - Norman Funeral Home, Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
