John 'Jack' O’Toole, 82, of Crystal, ND passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND.

Jack was born November 24, 1928, at Crystal, ND to Thomas E. and Elida E. (Bundlie) O’Toole. He grew up and attended school in Crystal and graduated from Crystal High School in 1946. After attending N.D.S.U. for one year he returned home to farm. In 1951 he was inducted to the U.S. Army, serving in Japan and Korea. Jack was honorably discharged in 1953, and returned to Crystal where he continued to farm his entire life. As a member of the Clifford Lane Legion Post he served as finance officer, he was also an active and faithful member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, where he served the church in several positions. Jack was also a member of the Park River Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his siblings: Esther J. Pessler, Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND, Martha (Richard) Kuhn, Flagstaff, AZ, William (Carol) O’Toole, Grand Forks, ND, Richard (Keitha) O’Toole, Crystal, ND; sister-in-law, Grace O’Toole, Borg Memorial Home, Mountain, ND; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; siblings: Mary Karel, Edward O’Toole, Joseph O’Toole, Margaret Stangl, Robert E. O’Toole, and Ruth Droske.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Crystal, ND. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 21st from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service at the church. Burial in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Crystal, ND. Military Rites by the Clifford Lane Post #107, Crystal American Legion.
