Allen L. Halverson, 57, Grand Forks, died unexpectedly Friday, June 10, 2011 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Allen L. Halverson, 57, Grand Forks, died unexpectedly Friday, June 10, 2011 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Allen Lee Halverson was born to Melvin and Gladys (Hjelmstad) Halverson on March 2, 1954 in Grand Forks. Allen lived 51 years with his parents, and for the past 6 years under the care of REM Homes in Grand Forks. He was employed for many years by Agassiz Enterprises.

Allen enjoyed attending church at University Lutheran and was confirmed by Pastor Tom Colenso. He had a special relationship with his Dad and enjoyed trips to the family farm, watching Western shows on television and also listening to music of all kinds.

Allen is survived by his father, Melvin, Grand Forks and his special friend, Jo Ann Hanson, Hallock, MN; siblings, Elaine (Terry) Morrow, Maple Grove, MN, Melvin, Jr., Manvel, ND, and Mary (Michael) Johnson, East Grand Forks, MN; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Gladys; and a sister, Ila Mae Stewart.

Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in University Lutheran Church, 2122 University Ave.,Grand Forks.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks and one hour prior to the service in the church.

Interment: Memorial Park North Cemetery in Grand Forks.

Memorials: are preferred to Seizure Research at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.
