Connie M. DeSautel, age 64 of Grafton, ND passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 at her home on Western Avenue.

Connie Marie DeSautel was born on April 22, 1947 in Grafton, ND the daughter of the late Vernon "Bud" and Judith (Carlson) DeSautel. She was raised in Grafton and later went to live with Donna (DeSautel) and Dick Hein and family in Fergus Falls, MN where she graduated from high school in 1965 and worked for 11 years as a nurse's aide at Lake Region Hospital. In 1976 she returned to Grafton and worked as a Resident Care Technician at the Grafton Developmental Center until retiring in 2001. Connie and her twin sister, Carol, later owned and operated a clothing store in Grafton called Twins Fashions and she has been a Tupperware Consultant for the past seven years.

Connie volunteered her time for several years with the Valley Ambulance and Rescue as an EMT, ECT and First Responder. In 2006 both Connie and Carol were honored as "Volunteers of the Year" by the City of Grafton.

She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the V.F.W., Eagle's and American Legion Auxiliary and the Walsh County Historical Society. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, fishing, sitting around the campfire, crocheting, and keeping tabs on all of her friends.

Connie is survived by her sister Caryn (Mike) Boyle, Federal Way, WA; her brother-in-law Kenneth Huber, Phoenix, AZ; niece Brandi (Buck) Thomas, Tacoma, WA; nephews, Robert Buck, Tumwater, WA and Mathew (Lisa) Buck, Seattle, WA; two great nieces; three great nephews; several dear friends, relatives and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Carol, in 2008; sister Alice Huber in 2006 and niece Tawnie (Bill) Neiman in 2011.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 6, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Grafton.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM and Monday for one hour prior to the service all at St. John's Catholic Church.

Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to be sent to the charity of your choice in Connie's name.

Sympathy thoughts sent to you upon reading of Connie's passing. We remember good times with Connie and Carol in British Isles Historical activities. Their clothing store was helpful, too. Lu and Gene Lusty, San Juan, TX
