Regina Chwialkowski, 91, of Stephen, MN, formerly of Warren, MN, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Regina Kurowski was born on September 12, 1919 at Florian, MN, one of eleven children of Peter and Frances (Myszkowski) Kurowski. She attended country school in Florian. On June 29, 1943, Regina married Frank Chwialkowski at Assumption Catholic Church in Florian. They made their home in rural Strandquist, MN before moving to Warren. She worked at the Warren Bakery, Warren Hospital, Warren Elementary School and the Landmark Center. Frank died on July 18, 1977.
She loved to spend time with her family and friends. Regina enjoyed cooking, sewing, decorating cakes and quilting.
Left to mourn her passing are five children, Kathy (Merlin) Boe of Viking, MN, Robert (Diane) Chwialkowski of Argyle, MN, Jane (Ron) Jensen of Stephen, MN, Rodney (Geri) Chwialkowski of Champlin, MN and Doreen (Ralph) Felts of Bemidji, MN; sister-in-law, Adeline Kurowski; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren including Jackson Sorvig, who she just met and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; daughter, Frances Sorvig; sisters, Antoinette, Lilly, Theresa, Polly, Emily, Delores and Pauline and brothers, August, Raymond and Stanley. Regina was the last of the Kurowski siblings.
Right before Regina passed away she said, "Love one another as God has loved you."
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Warren, MN.
VISITATION: After 5:30 PM with a 6:30 PM prayer service on Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Warren and one hour before services on Saturday at the church.
INTERMENT: Calvary Cemetery, Warren, MN.
