Carlton Pye age 76 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at his home in East Grand Forks.

Carlton Pye was born on April 10, 1935 in Worth County, GA, the son of Emerald Douglas and Pearl (Bryan) Pye. Carlton grew up and attended school in Worth County, GA. He entered the United States Air Force and served his country for 20 years before retiring on August 31, 1972. While serving in the Air Force, Carlton was stationed in many countries doing aircraft repair. On March 21, 1964 he was united in marriage to Nancy Sorenson in Grand Forks, ND. Following his retirement in 1972 they made their home in East Grand Forks, MN for a period of time then moved to Pembina, ND and then to Grand Rapids, MN before moving back to East Grand Forks, MN in 2009. Carlton loved to fish, garden and golf along with being a volunteer fireman. Carlton was a life member of the American Legion, VFW and the DAV.

Family members who survive Carlton include his wife Nancy of East Grand Forks, MN; one daughter Stephannie (Brian) Knutson of Warren, MN; 2 granddaughters, Christine Knutson and Kayla Knutson both of Grand Forks, ND; 1 great-granddaughter Calie and siblings: Elma Brazil, Warine Boone, Frankie Dugger and Lottie Thornhill.

Carlton is preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation: 1 Hour prior to Memorial Service on Saturday, June 4th, 2011.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 4th, 2011 in Stennes Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW East GrandForks, MN.

Military Honors will be conducted by the Grand Forks Air Force Base Honor Guard.
