June Grande, 83, of Grand Forks and formerly of Cando, ND, passed away at Woodside Village of Grand Forks, ND on Saturday, May 28, 2011.

June Grande

June Grande, 83, of Grand Forks and formerly of Cando, ND, passed away at Woodside Village of Grand Forks, ND on Saturday, May 28, 2011.

June Patricia Peterson was born June 28, 1927 at Starkweather, ND to Erick I. and Mabel Catherine (Dix) Peterson. June graduated from Cando High School in 1946. She then worked at the Federated Store until moving to Seattle, WA. She was united in marriage to Gustave Adolph Grande on June 19, 1947. She was a stay-at-home mom and housewife. They lived in Seattle, WA for 15 years and then Arizona for 4 years. They returned to ND where June worked as a CNA at the Towner County Memorial Hospital for 20 years.

She retired in 1992. They moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1993 where they lived until May 2005 when they moved to Grand Forks, ND to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Gustave passed away November 6, 2006 and most recently June has made her home at Woodside Village.

June is survived by her children: Jean Powell of California; Shirley (Jeff) Hussey of Grand Forks, ND; Kenneth (Sue) Grande of Cando, ND; Ronald (Nicole) Grande of Mentor, MN, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, siblings: Erick Peterson, Jr. of Cando, ND; Betty Schneider of Seattle, WA; and Ella Mae Belle of Cando, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother John Peterson and on-in-law Dennis Powell.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at 4pm at the Dunnigan Dix Funeral Home Chapel
