Rodney "Rod" Hagen age 79 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Monday, May 23, 2011 at his home.
Rodney Bruce Hagen was born on September 3, 1931 in Wilton, ND the son of Rudolph and Cleo (James) Hagen.
He grew up and graduated from Wilton High School with the Class of 1950. Following graduation he moved to Grand Forks, ND to attend the University of North Dakota. Rod then joined the United States Navy. Following his discharge from the Navy, he continued his studies at the University of North Dakota graduating with the Class of 1958. On March 3, 1959 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Moser in East Grand Forks, MN. Rod then taught Junior High School in East Grand Forks. He then was employed at the Vocational Technical Center serving as their Director before retiring after 33 years. Rod also served on the East Grand Forks City Council for 16 years.
Family members who survive Rodney include his wife Phyllis of East Grand Forks, MN, son Tom Hagen of Fargo, ND, 1 sister, Mary Jane (Bill) Wambganass of Yacaipa, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Randel in 1998, 1 sister Peggy and brother Alfred.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 27, 2011 at Our Savior's Lutheran church, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: 1 hour before services at the church.
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks, MN.
Military Honors Conducted by: East Grand Forks VFW #3817, East Grand Forks American Legion #157 and the North Dakota National Guard.
