Galen Fox, 80, New Town, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, in a Fergus Falls, MN hospital.

Galen was born July 17, 1930 to Albert and Ruth (Murray) Fox on the family farm north of Van Hook, ND. He attended Finstad country school and graduated from Van Hook High school in 1948. Galen was united in marriage to Rachel Dancing Bull on Sept. 8, 1955, in New Town.

Galen lived on the family farm his whole life; he retired from farming in 1995. He truly enjoyed living in the country and would often take drives to see the fields and wildlife. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Rachel died July 4, 2003.

Galen was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was chairman of Farmers Union Elevator, both of New Town. He also served on the Van Hook Township board. He and Rachel enjoyed square dancing and he also liked to bowl and play cards. May God bless the memory of Galen Fox.

Galen is survived by his sons: Blain (Karleta), of New Town, Dean (Jodie), of Pocatello, ID, Bryant and Ryan, both of Fargo; daughters: Karen, of Rapid City, SD, Teri, of Horace, ND and Sheri of Corpus Christi, TX; brother, Kendall, of Omaha, NE; sister, Sister Ruth OSB, of Richardton; grandchildren: Sandi Fox, Charla Fox, Shasta Fox (Robert Corlett), Casey Fox (Talia), Tara Fox, Tori Fox, Krista Fox, Zachary Nowatski, Levi Jesz, Kelby Jesz, Dallas Brown, Tyler Brown and Luke Hartman; great-granddaughter, Sophie Alderman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brother, Bryce; sister, Ina Tollefson and infant grandson, Jamie Fox.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, May 11, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, New Town.

Interment: New Town Cemetery.
