Walter W. Wrolson, 91, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Warren, MN, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 4, 2011 at Parkwood Place in Grand Forks, ND.

Walter W. Wrolson, 91, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Warren, MN, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 4, 2011 at Parkwood Place in Grand Forks, ND.

Walter Wrolson was born on September 8, 1919 in Divide County, ND, the son of Theodore and Annie (Nygaard) Wrolson.

He received his elementary education in that area, but then moved to Lowry, MN and lived with his aunt while going to high school in Glenwood, MN. After graduation from high school, he attended The St. Cloud State Teachers College for one year. Walter then enlisted in the Army in the fall of 1941. After his basic training, he went to Officers Candidate School at Ft. Knox, KY. After receiving his commission, he joined the 37th Tank Battalion of the 4th Armored Division. He served in the European Theatre - England, France and Germany. Walter was discharged in the fall of 1945 and started attending the School of Dentistry at the University of Minnesota. He graduated in 1950 and started to practice dentistry at Starbuck, MN. He was called back to the Army for the Korean Conflict. He received his discharge again and returned to his dental practice in Starbuck. In July of 1953, Walter moved to Warren and started a dental practice there. He retired from his practice in 1986 and since has been enjoying hobbies of carving, golfing, bowling and fishing.

He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Warren American Legion Post #27, Disabled American Veterans and a life member of the Warren Riverside Country Club and the American Dental Association.

Walter was married to Arloine Isfeld of Porter, MN on December 26, 1948. They had two children; Patricia of Escondido, CA and Wayne of Rochester, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arloine and two brothers, Lawny and Julian.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.

VISITATION: 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday at DuBore Funeral Home in Warren, MN and one hour before services on Saturday at the church.

INTERMENT: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren, MN.
