Theafil C. Kilichowski, age 89 of Minto, ND passed away on Monday, May 02, 2011 at the Valley Eldercare of Grand Forks, ND.

Theafil C. Kilichowski, age 89 of Minto, ND passed away on Monday, May 02, 2011 at the Valley Eldercare of Grand Forks, ND.

Theafil C. Kilichowski was born October 17, 1921 near Drayton, ND the son of the late Phil and Genevieve (Sezesny) Kilichowski. He graduated from Minto High School. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II, serving from 1942-1945. Following his discharge he returned home and farmed with his family. In the winter months, Theafil worked as a mechanic. He retired in 1983 and was united in marriage to Irene Eurich Lake on May 25, 1990. Irene passed away on Dec. 18, 2008. Theafil continued to live in Minto until January of 2011 when he moved to the Good Samaritan Center of Park River, ND.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a life member of the Minto American Legion Post #201, life member of the Walsh County Historical Society, the Warsaw PNA, and member of Minto Rural Fire Department and served as a Walsh County Sheriff Deputy years ago.

He is survived by his brother Joe (Doris) Kilichowski, Drayton, ND; step-daughters: Penny (David) Lizakowski, Minto, ND; Gloria Lizakowski, Hoople, ND; sister-in-law Margie Kilichowski, Minto, ND and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters: Salome, Josephine, and Loretta; brothers: Anzil, Chester, Johnny, Pete and twin brother Richard and his step-son Bruce Lake.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Minto, ND.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to the Altru Hospice or the Good Samaritan Center in Park River.

Military rites will be provided by the Minto American Legion Post #201, the East Grand Forks American Legion and V.F. W. Posts and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
