Eleanor E. Mueller, 89 of Devils Lake formerly of Calio, ND passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.

Eleanor E. Mueller, 89 of Devils Lake formerly of Calio, ND passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.

Eleanor Elizabeth, daughter of Peter and Julia (Kraus) Bernardy was born on October 31, 1921 at Munich, North Dakota where she was reared and educated.

Eleanor was united in marriage to Elmer P. Mueller on November 6, 1944 at Munich. They established their home on the farm southwest of Calio, living there for two years. They moved into Calio and were owners and operators of the Mueller's General Store and also ran the Post Office for many years. They retired in 1979 then moved to Devils Lake in 1980 where they lived their remaining years. Elmer passed away on November 23, 1994.

Eleanor was an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Society in Calio then after moving to Devils Lake joined St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society.

Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her children and felt truly blessed to have their love and concern for her always.

Survived by her children: Wayne (Arsenia) Mueller, Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Melvin (Edna) Mueller, Brighton, Michigan, Julie (Mike)Barten, Little Falls, Minnesota and Elaine (Scott) McArthur, Munich; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers Hilary Bernardy and James Bernardy both of Munich; sister-in-law Donna (Peter) Laturnus of Munich and brothers-in-law Robert (Monica) Mueller of St. Cloud, Minnesota and Harold Berg of Devils Lake;

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Elmer; parents; grandchild Lee McArthur; sisters Pauline Ballweg, Clara Michels, Dolores Berg and Geraldine Berg.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake.

Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.
