Janyce A. Johnson Haugen, 79, Audubon, Minnesota and Fargo, North Dakota, and formerly of Grafton, North Dakota, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Sanford Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.

Janyce Ardell Bjorg was born to Syvert and Greta (Jacobson) Bjorg in Adams, North Dakota on January 15, 1932. Janyce lived on a farm and attended school in Adams for all twelve grades, graduating in 1950. She then attended Moorhead State College where she earned her teaching degree. She taught in Portland, North Dakota, and later in Grafton, North Dakota.

Janyce Bjorg and Lyle M. Johnson were united in marriage on June 4, 1955. They lived in Grafton where Lyle was employed by Norwest/ Wells Fargo Bank and Janyce taught in Grafton Public School. They had four children, Greg, Jana, Shelly, and David.

Lyle Johnson died in 1991. In 2001 Janyce married Kenneth Haugen. They moved to Big Cormorant Lake, MN. Kenneth died in 2002, and Janyce continued to make her home at Big Cormorant Lake.

Janyce was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Audubon, MN where she was active in quilting and Hope Circle. Janyce enjoyed playing bridge and being with her many friends in the area. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Janyce is survived by three children, Greg Johnson, Shirley Johnson and their children, Maxwell, Weston, Kendall and Carter, Moorhead, MN, Shelly (Phil) Amundson and their daughters, Anna and Greta, Grand Forks, ND, and David (Cheryl Keller) Johnson and their daughters, Anika and Kaia, Fargo, ND; one sister, Arnola (Dennis) Skorheim, Park River, ND.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Syvert and Greta Bjorg; daughter, Jana Lynn; husbands, Lyle Johnson and Kenneth Haugen; granddaughter, Madison Johnson.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 in United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks.

Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. with a 5 p.m. Prayer Service Sunday, March 27, 2011 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St, Grand Forks and for the hour prior to the service in the church.

Interment: Grafton Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton, North Dakota later in the spring.

Memorials: are preferred to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Audubon, Minnesota Cross Lighting Fund

Tammie Tveit (Shirek), Roosevelt MN. Shelly and family Your mom was a great teacher, after 30 years I ran into her in Baudette,(i am a nurse at the hospital) she was visiting a patient there, was i surprised, she hadn't changed a bit. Sorry to here of your loss, I have great memories. Tammie

What great memories we have of Janyce!!! Always so friendly and caring. We miss her here in AZ and of course, it will not be the same without her at our birthday gatherings in ND. Our sincere sympathy to all the family. Love, Odell & LaVonne Berg
