Julie Ann Carlson 74, of Arvilla, ND, died on March 19, 2011 at home with her family present.
She was born on April 23, 1936 to Joseph and Irene (Czapiewski) Langowski in Grafton, ND. Julie attended school in Minto, ND
Julie married Clarence Jr. Carlson on October 28, 1964 in Emerado. Julie traveled with Clarence when he worked on road construction in different states. She worked as a flag person at some of the places. Julie worked for Landis Farms (Phil Jr., Punk, Jay and Bob) for 22 years. She worked every fall and graded potatoes in the winter. Julie and Clarence owned a lake home at Island Lake, MN for many years. They enjoyed going there on weekends having family and friends over. Julie and Clarence were married for 40 years until his death in 2005.
Julie was a member of the Arvilla Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed going to church, she thought of her church as one big family. She enjoyed helping out at church functions and community functions.
She loved gardening. She enjoyed canning and freezing vegetables. She loved raising her Easter lilies. She loved playing cards and Bingo with her friends and family. Julie would always help her family and friends out. She lived life to the fullest. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was full of love. She also enjoyed dancing in her younger years. She enjoyed baking homemade buns at Christmas time and giving them to family and friends.
Thanks to the Red River Valley Hospice for taking care of Julie for the past few months.
Julie will always be remembered and deeply missed by her family; daughters: Jill (Gary) Larson, Arvilla; Lorie McDermid, Vancouver, BC, Canada; and sons: Clarence "Bing" Carlson, Warroad, MN; David (Diane) Carlson, Inkster; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sister: Adeline (Loren) Hale, Stockton, KS, several nieces and nephews and special cousin: Phoebe Riski, Minto.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence "Jr" Carlson, and sister Darlene Czapiewski, great granddaughter Alivia Carlson and her special dog Stretch.
FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24 at the Arvilla Presbyterian Church in Arvilla.
INTERMENT: Arvilla Cemetery.
VISITATION: Wednesday March 23 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Thursday.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Julies Family, I've been a friend of hers for 40 years, meet my Husband (deceased) thru Julie & Jr., they stood up for us when we were married and we named our Daughter after Julie !!....Julie & I plan on coming to the Funeral Thursday.
