Adolph J. "Al" Tibiatowski, 78, Grand Forks, ND died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare of Grand Forks.

Adolph James Tibiatowski was born June 28, 1932 near Manvel, ND the son of John and Mary (Petrowski) Tibiatowski. He was raised and educated at St. Michael's School and St. James High School in Grand Forks.

Al married Marian Hill in January of 1951. They lived in Grand Forks were Al worked for Lyon's Auto Supply for 20 plus years. He later moved to St. Paul, MN and worked for auto parts stores there.

Al married Tina Luttrell in February 22, 1971 in Sisseton, SD. In 1977 they moved to Grand Forks and purchased A-Transmission City which he owned and operated until 1997.

A very important part of Al's life was playing the accordion. Over the years, he played in many musical groups through out the area including The Country Playboys.

Survivors include his wife, Tina; children, Jerry, Susan, Galen, Terry, Tracy, John, Kathy, Lori and Mary Kay; sister, Mary Lou; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

Al was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David; siblings, Harry, Johnnie, Leonard, Adeline, Demonic, Francis and Irene.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2011 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks.

Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.

In Lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
