Matthew Jared Larson, 25, Bismarck, was called home by our Heavenly Father on March 4, 2011. Matthew passed away in his home as the result of a seizure.
Matthew was born on December 12, 1985, in Bismarck. He attended Shiloh Christian School and graduated from the University of North Dakota in May 2010, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, where he was on the Dean’s List. Matthew also passed the Fundamentals in Engineering examination in 2010.
Matthew was very active and especially enjoyed basketball and frisbee golf. He loved to play chess and was an avid pool player. One of Matthew’s favorite pastimes was to repair and build computers. Matthew also loved to spend time with his siblings and especially doted on his six year-old twin sisters.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Gregory Larson and Cynthia Clairmont-Schmidt, his brothers, Samuel and Jared, and his sisters, Elizabeth, Natalie and Luiza Larson. He is also survived by his grandparents, William and Patricia Clairmont, his aunts and uncles, Julie, Nancy and Steve Clairmont, and Ronald, Diana, Larry, and Patricia Larson. He also leaves behind many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Hazel Larson.
Matthew was very kind-hearted and he loved, and was loved by, all those around him.
The funeral will be on Tuesday, March 8 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 4209 Old Red Trail in north Mandan, with Rev. Greg Baker officiating, followed by refreshments.
The burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
The visitation will be on Monday, March 7, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm.
