Helen F. Lunski, 93, of Grand Forks, ND died Friday, February 25, 2011 in Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, ND.

Helen Frances Lunski was born July 3, 1917 in rural Ardoch, ND. She was the daughter of Ignatz and Lillian (Czapiewski) Briski. Helen grew up and attended country school in Ardoch, ND. Helen married Isadore Lunski on October 18, 1937 in Warsaw, ND. They lived and farmed near Ardoch, ND. Helen worked on the farm, fall potato harvest and at the Grafton Developmental Center. She opened the Forest River Café with her daughter , Elaine, and granddaughter, Jodie. After moving to Grand Forks, she joined and worked in the Foster Grandparent program for 23 years. Helen enjoyed her family and traveling to see them. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening and bingo. Helen was a member of St. John's Church and Altar Society in Ardoch, ND. She also was a member at Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND.

Helen is survived by: Sons: Earl Lunski – Manvel; Gary (Jeanne) Lunski – Grand Forks; Daughter: Elaine (John) McDonald – Forest River; Daughter-in-law: Harriet (Ernie) Lunski; 11 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Isadore; son, Ernie; twelve brothers and sisters and her parents.

A funeral mass will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 1:00 PM in Holy Family Catholic Church, 1405 South 9th St., Grand Forks.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.

Elaine, I am sorry for your pain; my thought, prayers and love are with you now. I miss your Mom very much, too; she and I had some laughs throughout the years and she was a very loving, warm woman who worked hard and loved strong. I so enjoyed seeing her smile and hearing her laughter. Hugs from Alaska to you and your family. Dalene
