Helen B. Clark, age 90 of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, ND.
Helen Bernice Clark was born on June 25, 1920 in Larimore, ND, the daughter of Carl B. and Lillie (Britten) Hoover. She grew up on a farm south of Petersburg, ND and attended Melrose #1 rural school and graduated from Petersburg High School. Helen worked for Hariman’s Sanatorium, Grand Forks, San Haven Sanatorium, Dunseith, ND and Swimaster, Grand Forks, ND. Helen then worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company of Grand Forks, ND from 1944 until 1977 when she retired. Helen married Clarence R. Clark on July 31, 1950 in Grand Forks, ND where they made their home. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Raymond W. Quesnell VFW Auxiliary where she was treasurer from 1979 – 2003. She volunteered for Home Delivered Meals from 1979 – 1992 which was one of her favorite things to do. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America where she had been a Life Member Club president and C.P. Wainman Chapter #18 Life Member Representative. Also she was a past member of Maple Leaf Rebekah Lodge and enjoyed activities at the Grand Forks Senior Citizen Center.
Family members who survive Helen include her daughter Jackie (Tom) Novak of Hines, MN; grandsons, Kenneth Novak of Denver, CO, Todd Novak of Hines, MN and Trent Novak of Hopkins, MN; sisters, Marion (Ardell) Vonesh and Carol Kraus both of Grand Forks, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, 2 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence on April 14, 1978, daughter Candyce Gayle Clark and a sister Adele Hoover.
Funeral Service: 1:00 pm, Friday, March 4, 2011 at the 1st Presbyterian Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: One hour before the funeral service at First Presbyterian Church on Friday, March 4, 2011
Interment: Memorial Park South Cemetery ~ Grand Forks, ND

Jackie and family, Was so sorry to read of your Mom. I heard from her at Christmas and I had sent a card. I don't get the paper, but go to website and just saw it this morning.
