Carl Woinarowicz, 77, a lifelong Stephen area farmer, passed away at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota on Monday, February 7, 2011.
Carl was born in Eagle Point Township of Marshall County, Minnesota on January 25, 1934, the son of George and Agnes (Grembowski) Woinarowicz. He attended Eagle Point country school and grew up on the family farm. On November 8, 1955 he married Joyce Clark at Stephen, Minnesota. The couple farmed all their married lives in Eagle Point Township. In addition to farming, Carl worked campaigns at American Crystal Sugar Company in Drayton, North Dakota for 31 years, retiring in 1996. Carl continued to farm with his family. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Carl loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a gardener, fisherman, hunter, Twins fan, Vikings fan and avid KFGO listener.
Family members include his wife of 55 years, Joyce; children, Davis, Drayton, ND; Terry (DeAnna), Stephen, Todd (Nancy), Drayton, Jason (Kari), Drayton, Joy Edgar, Stephen, Jill Woinarowicz, Warren, MN, Dean (Janelle), Grafton, ND, Kent (Michelle), Warren, Julie (Kelvin) Larson, Eagan, MN, Chad (Sadie), Grafton, Tim (Julie), Stephen, Cory, Carson City, NV, Lance (Dana), Stephen and Jodi (Bryan) Szczepanski, Stephen; 36 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude Kuznia, Warren, Annie Kuznia, Warren, Sophie Johnson, Karlstad, MN and Katherine Widstrand, Blaine, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters, Tina and Lisa; sisters, Florence and Martha; and brothers, Casmer, Roman and Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Catholic Church, Stephen.
Interment will be in the St. Stephen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday evening, February 10th, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary service at 6:45 and a prayer service at 7:00.
