Charles Allen Clemetson, 88, of rural Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully Sunday Feb. 6, 2011 at Valley Memorial Home, Grand Forks, ND.

Charles Allen Clemetson, 88, of rural Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully Sunday Feb. 6, 2011 at Valley Memorial Home, Grand Forks, ND.

Charles was born Dec. 15, 1922 to Carl A. & Clara (Myhre) Clemetson. He grew up in Rye Township with three brothers and two sisters. He attended school at Rye 25 (a one room school). Charles never lived more than three miles from the farm he grew up on. In 2006 he moved back to the yard where he grew up, with his son Ronald and family. He loved home.

Charles farmed his whole life and worked many years at American Crystal during the winter months. He served many years on the Rye township board and Rye school board. He was a lifetime member of Middle Grove Lutheran Church and the Eagles Club, EGF.

On November 9, 1952 he married Bonnie D. Fontaine. Together they had five children, Ronald (Terrie) Clemetson, GF, ND, Jacqueline (Everett) Haugen, Manvel, ND, Mary (Steven) Nelson, Oslo, MN, Paul (Sue) Clemetson, GF, ND, Susan (David) Meagher, GF, ND, All left to mourn along with 18 grandchildren, Carl (Barb), Riley, Derek, Ryan, Troy & Tyler Clemetson, Amy (Jason) Davis, Laura (Chris) VanSickle, Joshua, Emery (Barb) Haugen, Nicole Nelson, Jessica (Paul) Rogus, Samantha Nelson, Amanda & Jacob Clemetson, Melissa, Dustin & Megan Meagher; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Adelaide Naas, Mentor, MN; two sisters-in-law, Arlene & Maycelle Clemetson and many nieces and nephews.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ardell, Sidney and Earl; one sister, Eleanor Hudson; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Middle Grove Lutheran Church, rural Grand Forks.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with 6:30 PM prayer service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church.
