Linda Martens

Linda Martens, 68, St. Thomas, ND, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND.

Linda M. Streed was born May 20, 1942, at Hallock, MN, to Art and Lenora (Lyle) Streed. She grew up in Hallock and Parshall, ND. In February of 1960 she married Robert Martens at Bowesmont Methodist Church, Bowesmont, ND. She enjoyed baking buns, playing cards with grandkids, working jigsaw puzzles with Mayme Jarus until early hours of the morning and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Robert, St. Thomas; children, Dale Martens, St. Thomas, Bradley (Sue) Martens, St. Thomas and Kevin (Denise) Martens, Greenbush, MN; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kimberly Martens; a son, David Martens; and a granddaughter, Ashley Martens.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 10:00 am in St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Thomas.

Interment will be at Bowesmont Cemetery in the spring.

Visitation will be at the church for one hour before services on Tuesday.
