Richard "Rick" Nikle, age 55, of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Richard "Rick" Nikle, age 55, of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Richard Lee Nikle was born on October 1, 1955 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Robert and Mary (May) Nikle Sr. Rick grew up and attended school at East Grand Forks Senior High School. He farmed his entire life in the East Grand Forks, MN area. On November 27, 1982 he was united in marriage to Pam Velaski in Grand Forks, ND. Rick also owned and operated Nikle Welding with his brother Bob.

Family members who survive Rick include his wife Pam of East Grand Forks, MN, 1 daughter, Kayla (Fiancé Jody Leeds) of Moorhead, MN, 1 son Kyle of Grand Forks, ND one brother, Robert (Penne) Nikle Jr. of East Grand Forks, MN; one sister: Doris (Terry) Driscoll of Grand Forks, ND; nieces & nephews, Josh Nikle, Matt (Fiancé Mandy) Nikle, Alicia Driscoll, Cory Driscoll, Brandon, Derek and Jenna (Fiancé Adam) Velaski, great niece and nephew, Logan Nikle & Matilda Driscoll uncle, Ronald Castellano; aunt, June Gipson; mother-in-law, Mary Helen Velaski of Hillsboro, ND and 1 brother-in-law, Paul (Wendy) Velaski of Gilbert, AZ.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister Lynn, one aunt; one uncle; his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A special thanks to the University of Minnesota doctors & nurses, Altru Cancer Center and also to Dr. Larry Halvorson.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM on Monday, January 31, 2011 in Sharon Lutheran Church, 1720 So. 20th St., Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: 2:00 to 4:00 with a 3:30 PM Prayer Service on Sunday, January 30, 2011 in Stennes Funeral Home of East Grand Forks, MN.
