Violet E. Mattson, 89, of Lake Bronson, MN, died Thursday, January 13th, 2011 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls, MN.
Violet was born to Edward and Ellen (Agman) Pearson on September 19, 1921 in Hallock, MN. She married Earl Mattson May 3, 1948 in Hallock. They lived in Grand Forks, ND, before moving to Lake Bronson after Earl’s retirement. Violet and Earl enjoyed traveling a great portion of the United States with their three children. Violet was a very active woman, she loved to be outside and always had to pull weeds so her yard would always look beautiful. Violet liked to play bingo in Thief River with her daughter whenever she could. Violet and Earl loved all their grandchildren and would always attend anything they had going on.
Earl died on June 20th, 2010.
Violet is survived by her three children, Earlyn, Grand Forks, Valerie (Stephen) Stoltman, Thief River Falls and Verlene Hill, Lake Bronson; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Percy Pearson, Salem, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Luverne and Arlo, and a sister, Elvoris.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 18th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Bronson.
Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson.
Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service.
