Ruby Solhaug, 88, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Friday afternoon, December 24, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.

Ruby Genora Neprud was born on March 9, 1922 in Crookston, MN, the daughter of Eli and Emma (Hoiland) Neprud. She was raised on a farm near Shelly, MN. Ruby attended grade school in Shelly and graduated from Climax High School in 1946. She attended Moorhead State Teachers College and she taught at various schools. Ruby married Obert Solhaug on August 6, 1951 and they made their home in Argyle. She taught country school for three years and then third grade at Argyle Public School for twenty-one years. Obert died on September 12, 1992. Ruby moved to the Good Samaritan Center in 2005.

She was a member of Our Savior’s Free Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, organist, LCW and WMF president, Circle chairperson, bulletin editor and church secretary.

Ruby enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, quilting and sewing at church and taking care of her many cats.

Left to mourn her passing is a sister-in-law, Marcella Neprud of Shelly, MN and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Erwin and Noel.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Our Savior’s Free Lutheran Church in Argyle, MN.

VISITATION: One hour before services at the church.

INTERMENT: Woodlawn Cemetery, Argyle, MN
