Anna Marie (Fritel) Olderbak, 91, continued her journey from this life to the next on December 16, 2010.

Anna was born to Frank and Anastasia (Fronk) Fritel on July 31, 1919 on the family farm near Orrin, North Dakota. She married Edward Olderbak on May 31, 1938 in Orrin. They lived in Sykeston and Rugby before moving to Grand Forks in 1953.

While they lived in Rugby, she developed an interest in golf. She continued in the ladies group at Lincoln Golf Course in Grand Forks. She loved to tell the stories of her three holes-in-one with the last being on 7-7-77. She also collected many trophies and awards in this sport. Anna was also involved in Homemakers, along with quilting, crocheting, knitting and embroidery. She made numerous afghans and quilts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a knack for recycling items which she made into crafts, along with making each family member a Christmas ornament every year. She and Edward enjoyed traveling a great portion of the United States. They also climbed Mt. Shasta in California. They enjoyed gardening together and Germans from Russia group. Anna worked doing alterations for JC Penney and a local drycleaner. She and Edward also had an income tax business.

She is survived by a daughter, Dolorus Krile (Vernon), Fargo; sons, John, Grand Forks, Jerry (Bonnie), Grand Forks, Jim (Rogene), Doniphan, Nebraska; 20 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a sister, Phyllis Salwey, Williston; brothers, Mike Fritel, Minnewauken, Nick (Theresa) Fritel, Rugby and Conrad (Caroline) Fritel, Stanley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, John, Rudy and Steve; sisters, Elizabeth Marquart, Magdalena Ripplinger, Catherine Rohrer; daughter-in-law, Marjorie; and two grandsons, Jim Krile and Matthew Olderbak.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 22, 2010 in Holy Family Catholic Church 1018 18th Ave S. Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery of Grand Forks in the spring of 2011.
