Max Arthur Mashburn

"Miracle" Max Mashburn, precious son of Arty and Mollie (Duckworth) Mashburn heeded his Saviors calling and followed the angels home to Jesus while his mommy and daddy were by his side in the early morning hours of December 15, 2010.

Max made his grand entrance into this world on July 24, 2010 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Max was born fourteen weeks premature and weighed one pound, twelve ounces. Max made his presence known with a big cry from his tiny body the moment he was born. Max was transferred to Altru in Grand Forks in early September and spent five weeks in the loving care of the Altru NICU staff. In October, Max moved home with his family in East Grand Forks, MN. The light in Max's eyes both received and reflected love that likened that of pure angelic beauty. Every moment of his short life, Max fought hard to spend time with his family who adored him. When he got too tired to fight any longer, Max went home to heaven to be with his Creator, where he is now whole and perfect. Although he will be so deeply missed we rest in the promise of spending eternity together with our sweet blessed baby Max.

Max is survived by his proud parents, his siblings Ethan Johnson, Noah and Lila Mashburn all at home. Grandma Susie Mashburn of East Grand Forks, MN, Papa Danny and Grandma Carolyn Weber of Duluth, MN and Papa Dwayne Duckworth of Warroad, MN. Aunties Amber Mashburn of EGF, Maggie Rudnik of Crookston, Meredith Duckworth of EGF and Olivia (Kyle) Myers of EGF. Uncle Kevin (Jenny) Mashburn of Rock Rapids, IA. Cousins Caren, Dustin and Ella Mashburn, Landen and Arlie Rudnik, Jackson and Branden Duckworth, Owen Thom and Jordan Myers. Great Grandparents Marlan and Bonnie Pokrzywinski of Crookston, Len and Zutz Duckworth of Mesa, AZ, Gilbert Weber of Crookston and Amber Mashburn of Erskine, MN. Many great aunts and uncles and dear friends.

Max was preceded in death by his Papa Jim "Arthur" Mashburn.

The celebration of Max's life will be at 3PM on Sunday, December 19th 2010 at Hope Covenant Church in Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation at 2PM prior to the service.

We would like to thank all of the people who cared for Max with love, compassion and devotion. We will be forever grateful for the love you gave our baby. Everyone at the NICU at Altru and in Sioux Falls as well, you will always be a part of our family.

I do not know you but the picture of your beautiful baby cought my eye. I just wanted to say that you wrote the most beautiful obituary I have ever seen. Through all that you have been through with "Miracle Max", your pride and courage shows and is so uplifting. Any child would be so proud to have family say such kind and heroic things about them. Bless you through your journey.

My heart aches for your family right now. As a father of 3 children I thank god everyday for them and feel saddened whenever a young child is called to heaven. God Bless you "Miracle Max" and watch over your family until you are reunited again. I offer my deepest sympathy. My family will pray for Max.
