Dennis Sweeney, age 64, of Larimore, ND, passed away on Sunday, December 12 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Dennis Ross Sweeney was born June 26, 1946 at Northwood, ND, the son of Russell and Fern (Swanson) Sweeney. He was raised and grew to manhood near Larimore. He attended and graduated from Larimore High School. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science.
Dennis married Vicky Haugen on July 1, 1967 in Larimore. After their marriage the couple lived in Grand Forks were he was employed by Culligan Water Softener, and also helped his father on the family farm. For many years Dennis was employed by the McCanna, ND, Farmers Elevator as manager, retiring as manager in 2000. He then drove semi truck for Kyllo Trucking of Larimore. He currently was a self employed trucking firm called Swenco. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed pinochle games.
Surviving members of his family include his wife Vicky, Larimore; daughter: Denise (Jeffrey) Casey, Goldendale, WA and son: Aaron (Jill) Sweeney, McCanna; 5 grandchildren: Gavine Cooper, Garrett Cooper, Gatlin Cooper, Spencer Sweeney and Emma Sweeney; his mother Fern Sweeney, Larimore; brothers: Rodney (Patricia) Sweeney, Pilot Grove, Missouri, Charles Sweeney, Larimore; sister Jane (Ronald) Carlson, Larimore and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Saturday, December 18 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Larimore.
INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore
VISITATION: Friday, December 17 from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will resume for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Saturday.

Vicky, Denise, Aaron, and all the family. Dennis was such a great guy to be around, work for, and just to know in general.
