Dennis O. Vogsland, age 81 of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, December 09, 2010 at his home near Grafton.
Dennis O. Vogsland was born January 28, 1929 in Grafton, ND the son of the late Ole and Clara (Wick) Vogsland. He attended rural school near Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School. Following his education he farmed with his father. Dennis was united in marriage to Ella Mae Poeppel on July 3, 1954 in Dunseith, ND. The couple lived and farmed near Grafton. During the winter months Dennis did a lot of carpentry work in the Grafton area. He retired from farming in 1996.
Dennis was a charter member of the Bethel Free Lutheran Church in Grafton. He was extremely proud of his Norwegian heritage and was glad he had the opportunity to visit the Old Country and developed relationships with his cousins in Norway.
He is survived by his wife Ella Mae of Grafton, ND; eight children: Robin (Brenda) Vogsland, Rio Rancho, NM; Scott (DeeDee) Vogsland, Grafton, ND; Jeff (Tammy) Vogsland, Santa Ynez, CA; Chris Vogsland, Grafton, ND; Brett Vogsland, Grafton, ND; Jennifer (Randy) Napier, Grafton, ND; Julie (John) Ferguson, Riverside, CA; Susan (Mike) Narloch, Drayton, ND; 17 grandchildren; sister Thelma (Donald) Skorheim, Grafton, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister LaVerne, an infant brother and sister.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel Free Lutheran Church of Grafton, ND.
Visitation will be Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hoople, ND.
