Barbara Faye Faulkner

Barb was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on November 12, 1937 to parents Otis Rutherford and Agnes Gudron Berkeland Faulkner.

Barb was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on November 12, 1937 to parents Otis Rutherford and Agnes Gudron Berkeland Faulkner.

In the family of English and Norwegian heritage, Barb had one brother, David and four sisters, Delories, Anne, Mary Kaye, Carol Joyce and Pamela Jean. After graduating from Grand Forks Central High School in 1955, Barb went on to attend Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, ND. She worked at Ireland's Lumber Yard in Grand Forks before moving to St. Paul, MN, where she lived for 40 years. In St. Paul, she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for several different companies including the Linnea Home and Jean Thorne temporary agency. While working for Jean Thorne temporary agency, she transferred her employment to Fargo where she lived for several years. In Fargo she worked for the Fargo Public Library.

Barb has traveled to Colorado, Alaska, and Wisconsin to visit family. She has had many hobbies over the years. She liked to sew, cross stitch, knit, and crochet. She made Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls at one time. Barb was an avid reader. She especially liked reading mysteries, The Grand Forks Herald, and some women's magazines. Her favorite television show was the Carol Burnett Show but she also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, Sioux hockey, CSI, and Law and Order on television. Barb also did some embroidery and liked baking, especially making cookies.

Barb is survived by her sisters, Delories Deitz (Robert-deceased), Carol Faulkner and Pam Faulkner (GaryTarisau). Also her brother David Faulkner (Priscilla). Also nine nieces and nephews; Candy (Pat) Robertson, Cindy (Bruce) Driscoll, Connie (Dean) Wylot, Kathy (Jay) Gilbertson, Richard (Tricia) Deitz, Jason (Lydia) Faulkner, Jill (Brian) Singleton, Kelly (Tami) Odenthal, David (Sue) Odenthal, and 16 great nieces and nephews: Mandy Hanson (Ted), Brandy Keenan (Geery), Shyanne Driscoll and Cody Driscoll, J.P. Odenthal, Katy Odenthal, Chloe Wylot, Brandon Deitz, Brianna Deitz, Bryce Deitz, Luke Higgenbothom, Leland Higgenbothom, Kendall Faulkner, Arden Faulkner, Malique Singleton, Makiya Singleton, and one great, great niece; Jordyn Keenan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Agnes, her sister, Mary (Don) Odenthal, and her great, great, nephew; Aaron Robertson.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Memorial Service: at 6:00 pm. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 4000 Valley Square - Woodside Village Nursing Center, 4004 24th Avenue South, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday in 4000 Valley Square - Woodside Village. ,

Sorry to hear of Barb"s passing. We always enjoyed visiting with you girls and your mom when we visited in Grand Forks. Brought back a lot of memories of our young days. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Butch Krogen and Family
