Florence Ostlie, 84, of Northwood, ND died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the Northwood Deaconess Health Center in Northwood.
Florence Olson was born January 9, 1926 in Lind Township, rural Northwood, ND the daughter of Iver and Martha (Johnson) Olson. She was raised there attending Lind Township School and was baptized and confirmed in the Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church. On May 18, 1946 she was united in marriage to Orphie Ostlie in Crookston, MN. They made their home in Northwood where she worked at the Northwood Deaconess Health Center for twenty-five years. Mr. Ostlie passed away in April of 1990. She continued to make her home in Northwood and moved the Northwood Deaconess Health Center in the fall of 2008.
She was a member of the Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church. Florence enjoyed baking and cooking and her greatest joy her grandchildren.
Florence is survived by her children, Wayne (Faith) Ostlie of Sumner, WA, Daryl J. Ostlie of the Philippines, Roger Ostlie of Bismarck, ND, Karen (Erwin) Miller of Larimore, ND and Laurel (Olen) Ophaug of McVille, ND; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother, Lyle E. Olson of Grand Forks, ND and sister, Jean Lonne of Ely, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Orphie, great grandson, Jared Miller, brothers, Melville, Floyd, Curtis and Allen and sisters, Mildred Halvorson, Irene Aaserude, Lorraine Paupst and Edith Wall.
Funeral Services will be 2:30 pm, Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood with burial in the Northwood City Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday in the Bethany Room at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and one hour prior to services in the church.

Hi, I am your relative. My name is Myrna (johnson) skalsky. My dad was your grandma Olson's brother. He was Sherman Johnson. I just saw your mom in October since I always go to the nursing home when I am in Northwood. Of course she did not know who I was etc but it was still nice to see her.
