Glenn O. Newland age 84 of Alvarado, MN passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Valley Memorial Homes, Woodside Village in Grand Forks, ND.

Glenn Newland was born on August 15, 1926 in Driscoll, ND the son of Ole and Emma (Hansen) Newland. He attended Deaf School in Devils Lake, ND. On May 14, 1961 he was united in marriage to Leona Erdman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Minot, ND. Glenn worked construction in Minot, ND before moving to Moorhead, MN where he was going to Auto Body School. Thereafter he worked at a Body Shop in Casselton, ND and later worked at a body shop in East Grand Forks, MN. They moved to a farmstead near Oslo, MN. Glenn became disabled in 1977. In 1990 until 5 years ago he did light work for the City of Alvarado, MN. Glenn attended the Deaf Worship Service at Immanuel Lutheran Church each month.

Glenn is survived by his wife Leona of Alvarado, MN, sons, Barry (Kathy) of Fredericksburg, VA, Billy (Rene) of Alvarado, MN and Bobby, (Teresa) of Grand Forks, ND, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, one sister, Joyce (Don) Siers in Dixon, MT along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Virgil and Clarence Newland.

Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 2, 2010 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1710 Cherry St., Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: One Hour before Funeral Service in Immanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday, September 2, 2010.

Interment: Oak Lawn Cemetery ~ Alvarado, MN.
