Darrin M. Austin age 28 of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2010 in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Darrin Marvin Austin was born on May 8, 1982 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Ellis and Joy (McLean) Austin. Darrin grew up in East Grand Forks, MN and attended school there graduating from East Grand Forks Senior High School with the Class of 2001. He worked for Bert's Truck Equipment and Weekley Auto Parts. In 2002 he moved to Denver, CO where he attended the Art Institute of Colorado. Darrin moved back to East Grand Forks, MN where he was employed at Weekley Auto, Cirrus and LM Wind Power of Grand Forks, ND. Darrin worked for his father Ellis for the past 3 months. Darrin's passion throughout his life was his family, Sprint Cars and Car Restoration.
Family members who survive Darrin include his parents, Ellis and Joy Austin of East Grand Forks, MN, 1 brother, Eric (Amanda) Austin of St. Cloud, MN, 1 sister, Andrea (C.J.) Novak of Fargo, ND, grandmother, Mabel Sundberg of Thief River Falls, MN, 3 nieces and 1 nephew along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Darrin is preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Alva Austin and Harry McLean and Karl Sundberg.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Friday, August 27, 2010 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1515 5th Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Thursday, August 26, 2010 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1515 5th Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN and for one hour prior to the funeral service.
In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Joy, Ellis and family, My deepest sympathy goes out to you regarding the death of your son and brother. I remember Darrin as the happy go lucky kid from the old neighborhood on Greenwood Drive.
