James "Jim" Michael Goss, 55 passed away August 1, 2010 in Grand Forks, ND after an 8 month battle with liver cancer.
James Michael Goss was born February 16, 1955 in Bemidji, MN to Richard and Jackie Goss (Holland). He grew up in Cass Lake, MN and graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High in 1974. He was united in marriage to Gerry Kirt on June 22, 1979 in Bagley, MN. Jim enjoyed bowling, golfing and snowmobiling. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and taking care of his lawn. He had a very off-key joking personality and took pride in his family. Jim was a long-time employee of JR Simplot food division in Grand Forks, ND where he was a member of the Teamster's Union. He worked for Coach of America the last 2 years until his health deteriorated.
He is survived by his wife Gerry of 31 years. Sons Daryl Kirt, Michael Goss and TJ Goss (Rachel Bredeson) all of East Grand Forks, MN. Grand-daughter's Callie and Chloe Kirt, Waconia, MN. Step-dad Jasper Souder. Siblings: Cyndi Goss; Bloomington, MN, Rick Goss (Connie Carol); Fargo, ND, Leilani (Rick) Westrum; Delano, MN, Connie Ann Goss (Bruce Walker); Bloomington, MN. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Dad; Richard Goss, Mom; Jackie Souder, Aunt and Uncle; Clairette and Vernon Premo.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, August 6, 2010 at Cease Family Funeral Home of Cass Lake, MN.
A visitation will be from 6-8pm on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Cass Lake.
Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN.
