Gertrude A. Stoltman, age 96 of Grafton, ND passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.

Gertrude Ann Mozinski was born April 24, 1914 in Acton Township, Walsh County, ND the daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Glanner) Mozinski. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Warsaw, ND. She attended Acton School Dist. #57 and later the Convent School in Warsaw. As a young woman, she worked in the cook cars during harvest.

She was united in marriage to Ambrose Stoltman on March 29, 1937 in Warsaw, ND. The couple lived and farmed near Crystal, ND following their marriage and later moved to the Minto area where they farmed until his death in 1965. She moved to Grafton where she worked at the Grafton Developmental Center and later worked as a cook at the Lutheran Sunset Home for several years. Following her retirement, Gertrude worked as volunteer at the Lutheran Sunset Home.

She was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church and Parish Society, a former member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society of Minto, ND; a lifetime member of the Minto American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Grafton Senior citizens. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to crotchet Afghans, doilies and baby Afghans for her grandchildren. She had amazing vegetable and flower gardens every year and loved to pick wild berries to make her wonderful jams and jellies.

Gertrude is survived by her children: Willie (Gail) Stoltman, Dazey, ND; Rita (Felix) Rudnik, Minto, ND; 23 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; her siblings: Ed (Rosalie) Mozinski and Irene Kostrzewski both of Thief River Falls, MN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gerald, daughter Bertha Tibert, and four grandsons: Greg, Jeff and Tim Tibert and Darrell Stoltman, her sister Isabelle Dietrich and brother Stanley Mozinski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton.

Visitation will be Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Minto, ND.
