Grace A. McLean, age 89, resident of Lakota, ND, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Lakota Good Samaritan Center in Lakota.

Grace A. McLean, age 89, resident of Lakota, ND, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Lakota Good Samaritan Center in Lakota.

Grace Alpha Olson was born April 27, 1921 at Dahlen, ND, the daughter of George and Amalia (Moen) Olson. She was raised on her parents farm there and graduated from Dahlen High School. Grace married Don McLean on March 23, 1940 at Lakota. They farmed in the Dahlen area until moving to Lakota in 1950. They worked together on the Star Mail delivery route for 4 years. They then owned and operated a meat locker plant in Lakota for 14 years. Grace and Don also operated Lefty's Bar in Lakota for 9 years. They retired in 1979 and continued living in Lakota. Grace was a member of Lakota Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir. She thoroughly enjoyed quilting at church with her friends and at home. She also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and was a Minnesota Twins fanatic. Don died June 7, 2000. Grace stayed in her home until she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in February of 2009.

Grace will be deeply missed by her 2 sons, Gary (Lu) McLean and Jon (Shari) McLean, both of Lakota; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sons, David and Gene; a great-granddaughter, Grace; a great-great-granddaughter, Madison McLean; 1 brother, Alvin "Sammy" Olson; and 2 sisters, Edna Carlson and Adeline Carlson.

Funeral Service for Grace will be held at the Lakota Lutheran Church, Lakota, ND, on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
