Robert "Bob" Deitz, 75, of Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, June 20, 2010, surrounded by his family, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Robert "Bob" Deitz, 75, of Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, June 20, 2010, surrounded by his family, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Robert Jerome Deitz was born May 26, 1935, in Grand Forks, ND the son of Richard and Ella (Schrump) Deitz. He grew up and attended school at St Michael's School and graduated from St. James Academy in Grand Forks. Robert married Delories Faulkner on June 12, 1954 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Robert worked for the Peavy Flour Mill for 18 years and then worked for the Grand Forks City Water Department for 29 years until his retirement in 2000. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and especially spending time with his family at the lake.

Robert is survived by: Wife: Delories Deitz - Grand Forks, Daughters: Kandy (Patrick) Robertson - Grand Forks, Connie (Dean) Wylot - Thompson, Cynthia (Bruce) Driscoll - East Grand Forks, Kathleen (Jay) Gilbertson - Michigan, ND, Son: Richard (Trisha) Deitz - Fargo, Sisters: Josephine Sampson- Grand Forks, Dorothy Johnson - Grand Forks.

Grandchildren: Brandy (Jerry) Keenan, Amanda Robertson and her Fiancé Ted Hanson, Chloe Wylot, Cody Driscoll, Shyanne Driscoll, Leland Higginbotham, Luke Higginbotham, Brandyn Deitz, Brianna Deitz and Bryce Deitz.

Great Granddaughter: Jordyn Keenan

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Walter, Joseph and Donald; sisters, Elaine Johnson and Donna Norman; great grandson, Aaron Robertson.

Memorials are preferred to the St. Michael's Bridge Builders.

A funeral mass will be on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 2:30 PM in St. Michael's Catholic Church, 524 5th Ave. North, Grand Forks.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM with a prayer service at 8PM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery on Friday at 2:30PM.
