Olger E. Olson, 84, of Warren died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Home in Warren.
Olger was born July 14, 1925 in Foldahl Township, Marshall County, MN to Oscar E. and Lilly (Swanberg) Olson. He grew up and attended rural school in Foldahl Township, Marshall County, MN. He enjoyed the farm and in later years worked for many farmers in the Stephen area. He joined the US Army in Dec. of 1944 and served in World War II in the Philippines. Olger worked at the Chevrolet garage in Warren and for the city of Warren until his retirement in 1986.
He enjoyed deer hunting, working on small engines, mowing lawns for many and going to the lake. Olger married Joye Potucek on May 11, 1954 at Immanuel Church in Radium, MN, where they lived for 3 years and then moved to Warren into their present home. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Warren, the American Legion Post #27 of Warren for 60 years and the VFW of Thief River Falls.
Olger will be missed by his wife Joye; daughter, Cheryl who lives at River Place in Warren; and son, Daryl (Renee McMahon and daughters, Katlyn and Amanda) of Warren; one sister-in-law, Ethel Olson; nephew, Leonard Olson; niece RaeAnn Halvorson; brothers-in-law; Jerome, Delvin, Charles, Terry Potucek and families.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond; and a sister, Lucille Underdahl.
Funeral Service: Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Warren, MN.
Visitation: After 5:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday, May 28, 2010 at DuBore Funeral Home in Warren, MN and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
Interment: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Radium, MN.
Military Service By: Warren American Legion Post #27 and VFW Post 2793.
