Barbara A. Lacrosse, 71, Grand Forks, ND died Friday, April 30, 2010 at home.

Barbara Skavlem was born May 7, 1938 in Grand Forks the daughter of Selmer and Ethel (Hagen) Skavlem. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School in 1956. She moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada then returned to Grand Forks to work for Western Potato and later Frenchy's. Barbara also lived in Phoenix, AZ, later returning to Grand Forks where she worked for J.R. Simplot. She also lived in Ashley, ND.

Barbara kept her home beautiful. She loved flowers and gardening as well as reading books. She also enjoyed bowling, BINGO and time with her grandchildren as well as taking care of her beloved dog, Harley.

Survivors include her sons, Gordon Lyndon, Medicine Hat, Manitoba and Paul Lacrosse, Grand Forks, ND; daughter, Lori (Dave) Kretschmar, Ashley, ND; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Breigh-Ann, Matthew and Ryan; Brothers, Russ (Mary) Skavlem, Climax, MN, Jim Skavlem, Climax, MN and Sheldon (Carol) Skavlem; sisters, Mary Bachmeier, Grand Forks and Susie Pedersen, Helena, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by a brother, Dennis Skavlem and a nephew, Wade Skavlem.

Funeral Services will be private.
