Marilyn M. Watson, 79, of Cavalier, ND passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010, at her home.

Marilyn Mae was born June 22, 1930, in Tacoma General Hospital, Tacoma, WA the daughter of Fred and Jane (Healey) Eastman. She grew up and attended school in Cavalier graduating in 1948, as valedictorian of her high school class. She then attended Mayville State University, graduating magna cum laude with a BS in elementary education. She taught 3rd grade in Larimore, ND and Cavalier.

On September 6, 1952, she married Cecil Watson in Holly Springs, Mississippi. They lived in Raleigh, TN, Sanford FL, East Ocean View, VA, Fargo, ND and Cavalier.

She was an active member of Cavalier Baptist Church and for many years taught Sunday School and after school clubs. She accepted Christ as her savior while attending a bible camp at Lake Bronson, MN.

Marilyn enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling, camping, and taking care of her flowers.

Survivors include her husband of 57 ½ years, Cecil; sons, Daryl (Noel) Watson, Cavalier, Charles (Sheryl Novak) Watson, Bathgate, ND, Jerome (Jennifer) Watson, Farmington, MO, and Thomas Watson, Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Nicholas (Becky) Watson, Grand Forks, Joseph (Katie) Watson, Parshall, ND, Jordan (Brittany) Watson, Cavalier, Alexander Watson, Brandon Watson, and step grandson, Jordan Lindtwed, all of Bathgate, ND, Zachary Watson, Everton, MO, Benjamin Watson and Whitney Watson, Farmington, MO, Brianna and Ashlan Watson, Mesa AZ, great grandchildren, Rylee, Reegan, Adrianna, and Meelah all of Grand Forks and Ellie Watson, Cavalier; brother, Ken (Margit) Eastman, Sun City, AZ.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and great grandson, Conner Alexander Watson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at the Cavalier Baptist Church, Cavalier, ND.

Visitation on Tuesday, April 20th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.

Burial in the Cavalier Cemetery.
