Esther C. Lee Brown, age 61 of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday March 9, 2010 at her home in Grafton.
Esther C. Lee Brown was born July 9, 1948 in Grafton, ND, the daughter of the late Oscar & Mabel (Knudson) Lee of rural Fairdale. She grew up and attended school in Dewey Township and Adams. Esther graduated from Grafton High School in 1966.
She attended Lake Region Junior College in 1981 and became a licensed practical nurse in 1982. Esther worked as a telephone operator from 1966-1969. Between 1970- 1981 she worked as a nurse's aide at St. Michaels in Grand Forks, ND, Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Shawnee Mission KA, and at the Unity Medical Hospital in Grafton, ND. In 1982 she began working for the Lutheran Sunset Home, Grafton, ND as a practical nurse and later the Grafton Developmental Center until her retirement in 2009.
She is survived by her daughter Shonda (Shane) Boydston, Shady Shores, TX; son Aaron Brown, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Ezra and Gavin Boydston, and Breanne Brown; sisters: Emma (Gaylord) Fosdick, Cheyenne, WY; June Peterson, Colorado Springs, CO; Elaine (Howard) Finger, Fullerton, CA; Ellen Severson, Grafton, ND and brother Lester (Patricia) Lee, Adams, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Harold Lee and two brother in laws.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 15, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Grafton Lutheran Church of Grafton.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3-5 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery of Grafton.
